We Perform... But Not at Dance Competitions!

Since our inception in 1994, The Alabama Dance Academy has been providing our dancers with the most exciting performing opportunities available to Alabama dancers. All the world is a stage, and we can literally say that our dancers have danced on it! Dancers from the Alabama Dance Academy have graced performance venues in the Bahamas, Paris, France, Munich, Germany, New York City, and at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

However, as impressive as those venues are, our most important performances are the ones we do right here in Alabama. Each year, Alabama Dance Academy dancers can be seen performing at events all around the community, as well as our own productions which include our annual Nutcracker, Spring Repertoire Performance, and our annual Evening of Dance at the Historic Alabama Theatre which includes each and every dancer at Alabama Dance Academy.

So why do we do all this performing? Well, we believe it enriches our students' lives and makes them successful in life. Alabama Dance Academy graduates have gone on to dance professionally, earn college scholarships in dance, and study with the most prestigious ballet schools in the United States including the Joffrey Ballet, Houston Ballet Academy, and American Ballet Theatre.

Since we believe in a non-competitive environment, our students do not participate in dance competitions. Instead, we focus on providing exciting and enriching performance and master class opportunities that help all our our dancers to develop confidence, stage-presence, and artistry.
